What is an anemometer sensor?

Anemometers measure wind speed by the amount of wind pressure against a surface, such as a cup or a propeller, or by using sonic pulses. A mechanical anemometer contains a wheel with cups or a propeller at the end of the spokes of the wheel.

Which sensor is used to measure wind speed?

The device that measures this wind speed is called an anemometer or a wind speed sensor, and since wind, i.e. air flow, is invisible to the eye, it is measured using a special device.

How to check wind speed at home?

The speed of that wind can be measured using a tool called an anemometer.

How accurate is the anemometer?

Anemometer accuracy can vary greatly from device to device. Under normal conditions, a cup anemometer offers an accuracy ranging from 1% to 5%. But even lower values are possible with traceable specific calibrated instruments. In general we recommend always using a 1-2% accuracy sensor.
