Engine oil pressure sensor/switch
Model: SensorMass20250623S2
Measuring range: Oil pressure sensor
Working pressure: 0~1MPa (range adjustable)
Safety pressure: 1.7MPa
Impact pressure: 2.8MPa
Working temperature: -40~135℃
Accuracy range: ±2.5%
Power supply voltage: 5±0.10 VDC
Output voltage: 0.5~4.5 VDC
Working medium: engine oil
Description:
The Engine oil pressure sensor measures the engine oil pressure and outputs it to the ECU, which then displays it on the oil pressure gauge. When the oil pressure is too low, the ECU will alarm and take control measures to protect the engine.
Features
- High measurement accuracy enables the ECU to accurately measure and control the oil pressure of the engine;
- good reliability, long service life, suitable for working in the harsh environment of the automotive system;
- ceramic capacitor structure, good compatibility with the measurement medium. Reliable operation within the full temperature range.
Application
- Suitable for oil pressure sensors on cars.

What happens when the oil pressure sensor goes bad?
A bad oil pressure sensor can lead to a variety of issues, including a lit oil pressure warning light, inaccurate gauge readings, and even potential engine damage if ignored. The sensor may also trigger a check engine light or cause the engine to run roughly, stall, or shut off. In some cases, a faulty sensor can lead to oil leaks.
Can I drive with a bad oil pressure sensor?
It is generally not safe to drive with a faulty oil pressure sensor, especially if it’s triggering a low oil pressure warning. While the sensor itself doesn’t directly control engine lubrication, it alerts you to potential issues with your oil pressure, which is crucial for engine health. Driving with a faulty sensor means you might not be warned of a real drop in oil pressure, potentially leading to severe engine damage.
What does the engine oil pressure sensor do?
The engine oil pressure sensor monitors the oil pressure in your engine and sends this information to the engine control unit (ECU) or instrument cluster. It acts as an early warning system, alerting you to potential problems like low oil pressure, which could damage the engine if ignored.
